V8 Supercars pays tribute to Orrcon Steel’s 10th year
V8 Supercars has honoured Orrcon Steel’s 10th year in the sport at Sydney Olympic Park today, with Tony Cochrane making a special presentation to Orrcon Steel Managing Director, Leon Andrewartha on the Sydney Telstra 500 grid.
Frosty rounds out Orrcon Steel’s 10th year with a win
Mark Winterbottom took a dominant victory at the final race of 2011, the Sydney Telstra 500 in the #5 Orrcon Steel FPR Falcon, delighting the crowd and surviving another drama packed Sydney street race.
Top five despite strong pace for Winterbottom
There were plenty of ifs buts and maybes being discussed among the Orrcon Steel-backed Ford Performance Racing team after the first leg of the Sydney Telstra 500 – however Mark Winterbottom put in an outstanding fightback to finish in fifth after a mid race penalty compromised what was shaping up as his second victory of 2011.
Orrcon Steel duo happy despite a lack of clear running
The Orrcon Steel Ford Performance Racing team drivers, Mark Winterbottom and Will Davison have had a great start to the final round of the 2011 V8 Supercars Championship season – despite a lack of clear running on the Homebush street circuit.
WIN at the ST500 eXcellerator Zone
The competition will run into next season, with entries able to be lodged at the eXcellerator Zones at the Clipsal 500 in March, the Trading Post Challenge in Perth and the Sucrogen Townsville 400 – with a winner to be drawn after that event.
